When it comes to culture and ethnic diversity, Nepal is one of the richest countries in the world. The culture has been a guiding factor for living in any community. The statement holds true in case of Nepal where every aspect of life, food, clothing and even occupations are culturally guided. The culture of Nepal includes the codes of manners, dress, language, rituals, and norms of behavior.
The temples, monasteries, monuments, palaces, sculptures, art, paintings and everything in Nepal reflects its culture. Maybe that is the reason why among the world heritage sites of the world listed by UNESCO, seven of them lie in Nepal itself. Amongst all, Kathmandu, the capital city is the richest of all. Known as the city of temples, it includes former royal palaces, Buddhist stupa and many other sites to visit.

The main palace was built in 14th century whereas some of the British looks to the building was given in late 18the century. This Durbar Square is a historical seat of royalty where the kings are crowned and their coronations are solemnized. UNESCO noticed its importance and listed it as one of the world heritage sites in 1997.

Swayambhunath Stupa:
Situated at the hilltop, Swayambhunath Stupa is a legendary Buddhist shrine. The stupa has a white lofty white dome and a glittering golden spire. On the top of the dome are the famous painted eyes of the Buddha gazing in the four directions. Like the other cities, Patan had it its own monarch in the age of 14th century and they had their own interest and capability.
