Makalu Base Camp Trekking is one of the most spectacular off-the-beaten trekking in Nepal. The trek covers some of the beautiful parts of the eastern Nepal and its diversity of the Makalu Barun National Park. The primary attraction of this trek is Mt. Makalu (8463m), which is the 5th highest peak in the world. The undisturbed landscape and sceneries, Himalayan views, scattered Himalayan settlements and wilderness of flora and fauna are all project the fabulous features of the trek to Makalu base camp.
The enticing Makalu base camp trekking embarks from Tumlingtar. Then you head towards the Makalu base camp through the indigenous communities. This lower altitude region is dotted by the sub-tropical forests. It is off-the-beaten trail that leads you to your dream destination. The picturesque Arun valley attracts trekkers to enjoy on taking photographs. Waterfalls and multi-coloured meadows are incredible. The rhododendron forest makes your trekking in spring really charming. Trekking further through Tashi Gaon and Mumbuk, the cultural practices of the local people and their remarkable hospitality allure you it goes on the alpine region and the stunning peaks as Mt. Chamlang (7319m), Mt. Baruntse (7129m) can be explored from the closer point. Makalu base camp trekking includes some high passes over 4000 meters- Shipton La and Keke La. You need to be acclimatized and have good physical fitness to cross the high passes. Once you climb over, the panoramas of the surroundings come in front of you. Makalu base camp is also a wonderful viewpoint to witness the snowy peaks and the peace along with solace of the isolated part is awesome.
