Itinerary

Welcome to Nepal. You will be greeted by the representative of Adventure Bound Nepal and transferred to the hotel. In the evening, we give you a short briefing about the trip overview. Overnight at hotel.  

We set out for the sightseeing in Kathmandu after the breakfast. Visiting Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Swayambhunath, you can have a unique idea about the cultural knowledge and about the religiosity. Then back to the hotel and prepare for the trek. Overnight at hotel.

From Kathmandu, we fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. A short flight is equally picturesque. Meeting further crew, we begin to drive from Tumlingtar to Chichira, which is an ethnic village, populated by the Gurung people. Overnight at tented camp. 

The first day of the Makalu base camp trek, we begin from Chichira after the breakfast. This is a picturesque trail through the lush hill trail and gradually we reach to Num. The wonderful scenery of the River and waterfalls are amazing. Overnight at tented camp. 

Following the terraced hillside trail, we trek from Num and reach to the Barun River. Crossing the River, we begin to ascend steadily and walk through the dense woods. Then we officially enter into the Makalu Barun National Park and walk gradually to Seduwa village. Overnight at tented camp. 

After the breakfast, we follow the Ipsa stream and pass the green hillside and wonderful villages. Then we walk through the paddy fields and the exotic village of Tashi Gaon, dominated by the indigenous people. Overnight at tented camp. 

We begin to walk through the steep ascending trail. The altitude increases almost 1400 meters. Then we head through the forests and cross the streams. Again the trail goes through the grazing meadows that is steeps. Gradually, we reach to Khongma ridge and take a rest. Overnight at tented camp. 

Due to the altitude, we need to take a rest for the acclimatization. The next day, we need to cross the Shipton La Pass, which is challenging enough. We walk around the locality and adapt to the high altitude. Overnight at tented camp.  

We begin the trek quiet early in the morning and cross the Shipton La Pass, which is a few hour climb. Passing keke La Pass, we encounter with the Black Lake. The stunning view of the Chamlang Himal (7,321 meters), Peak 6 and 7 entice us brilliantly. Then we trek down to Dobate. Overnight at tented camp. 

We begin to trek from Dobate through the lush woods of rhododendron. We reach to the Barun River bank and the upper valley. We head through the tough trail, which is challenging enough. With a gradual walk uphill, we reach to the Yangri Kharka and rest. Overnight at tented camp.  

The trail is gentle in the beginning as we start to walk and it goes to the moderate trail. The trail is dominated by the rhododendron forest and soon, we walk through the alpine meadows. The valley rises up and ascending to the ridge, we can enjoy the downhill superb views. Then we reach to the Langmale Kharka and rest. Overnight at tented camp. 

The final ascend to the ultimate destination of the trek, Makalu base camp begins after the breakfast at Langmale Kharka. We climb up to Shershong and walking gradually, we reach to the base camp, which is dominated by the icy glacier. It's amazing to get the Himalayan scenery in front of the eyes. Overnight at tented camp. 

The most exciting destination and the ultimate place to reach, Makalu base camp is located beyond the Barun Glacier. The spectacular views of Mt. Makalu, Everest and Lhotse and be seen that excitingly allure us. We walk around taking snapshots and making the day exclusively awesome. Overnight at tented camp. 

From the Makalu Base Camp, we get to closer encounter with the sunrise over the snowy peaks. Leaving this enticing place, we trek down via Shershong and Langmale Kharka, which continues walking down gradually to Yangri Kharka. Overnight at tented camp. 

After the breakfast at Yangri Kharka, we trek down through the rock falling area. It is better to trek down early which is much safer. The trail goes through the lush forests and we steadily reach to Dobate, following the Barun River bank. Overnight at tented camp. 

From Dobate, we climb down from the steep downhill trail. We arrive at Mumbuk and walk through the rhododendron forest. Passing Keke La and Tutu la, we steadily trek down to Khongma ridge and take a rest. Overnight at tented camp. 

After the breakfast from Khongma, the downhill trail leads us through the forest and picturesque countryside. Tashi Gaon is a typical Sherpa village with a unique culture and traditions. Overnight at tented camp.   

Continually, we begin to trek down from Tashi Gaon after the breakfast. The beautiful shape of the Barun River flows continuously, without any blockage. Passing some of the beautiful terrain, we arrive at Seduwa and take a rest. Overnight at tented camp. 

Walking through the forest, we leave Seduwa and through the up and down trail, we steadily head towards Num, passing the indigenous community. Overnight at tented camp. 

From Num, we trek to Tumlingtar, which is the concluding day of trekking. While descending from Num, we wave goodbye to the majestic peak- Makalu. We enjoy the trek celebration in Tumlingtar. Overnight at lodge. 

From Tumlingtar, we fly back to Kathmandu in the morning getting the sights of the Himalayas. From the Airport, transfer to the hotel. You have the whole day to do shopping or what is there in your list. Overnight at hotel. 

According to the time of your flight, our Airport representative drops you to the International Airport for your final departure. Thank you for joining us for your trekking in Nepal. See you again.
