About Upper Dolpo Trek

Upper Dolpo Trekking is a trek that leads you through the spiritually prosperous villages located in the remote terrain of the Dolpo region. The route of the trek goes through the typical village of the pre-Buddhist era and the mixed landscape. The adventurous trek is bitterly known to be the combined form of the Buddhist culture and the remote countryside landscape beyond the Dhaulagiri peak.

Trek to Upper Dolpo begins from Juphal, the gateway of the Dolpo region. Trekkers can feel the difference and the unique feature of the Dolpo region from the very beginning of the trek. Phoksundo Lake, which is largely spread blue Lake, is the naturally loaded beauty that represents the features of this remote part of Nepal. Shey Gompa is another awesome attraction, where Tibetan monks and Buddhist devotees come to pray, meditate and to get new insights. During the trekking to Upper Dolpo, you will get an opportunity to explore the last commune of pure Tibetan culture. People in some of the inner Dolpo valley, follow the animal husbandry profession and also involved in agriculture. Kang La pass (5360m), Saldang La pass (4,785m), Jeng La (4369m) and Jeng La pass (4845m) and other high passes increase the technicality in the trek. The trail still has got jaw dropping rocky boulders that you have to overcome.
